About Mark

I hold the degrees of Master of Gestalt Therapy and Master of Addictive Behaviour (Monash).  I have trained for many years in this discipline. I am fully accredited and a member of the GANZ and PACFA governing bodies.

I work in private practice in Surry Hills and Byron Bay, NSW, with a group of therapists and psychologists.  I am trained as a relational psychotherapist, which enables me to use the most appropriate approach to therapy depending on your specific needs. Compassion, presence and integrity are at the heart of my practice and I honour the uniqueness of everyone I work with.

I have developed a particular interest in working with Addictions and the associated disorders of Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma, although not to the exclusion of any other issues.  I recognise the development of our issues stemming from un-recognised and un-treated crisis points or blocks in our early development and growth.  I fully support my clients in their search for meaning and gaining insight into their difficulties and stresses.

I can help with:

  • addiction
  • anxiety
  • bereavement
  • depression
  • emotional, physical or sexual abuse
  • grief
  • loss of job/loss of career meaning and direction
  • mid-life crisis/transition
  • panic attacks
  • Post Traumatic Stress
  • relationship problems (this is not couples counselling)
  • self-esteem/confidence
  • self-harm
  • separation, dying and death
  • stress
  • suicidal feelings
  • trauma
